Startups. Side Hustles. Passion Projects.

a snapshot of my projects + experiences…

2023 / Dad Relays Charity Event

[charity event]

a “for fun” BBQ event that raised $1k for local charity for Philadelphia youth while also receiving over $800 in ‘ product donations’ from local and national companies. see website here.

2021 / Beersbee Elite

[yard game e-commerce site]

A fun project started with friends to focus on selling premium wood Beersbee sets (a frisbee yard game.) Have sold over 20+ units including a large corporate gift order since Fall 2021. Currently selling on Etsy.

2021 / BikeIt

[peer to peer bike sharing platform]

An ‘experiment’ to see if I could build a better bike renting experience. Built the platform using strictly APIs of multiple third party applications. Built working MVP, signed up multiple hosts and pilot riders through digital + ‘gorilla’ marketing techniques . Ended the project after moving outside of Philly.

2020 / AskPhilly

[local blogger platform]

Built a hyper-local blogging platform to support easier ways for locals to support local in response to COVID-19. Recruited 30+ student interns, partnered with 50+ businesses and bloggers, connected thousands of people to local businesses.

2016 / StayLocal Newsletter

[hyperlocal newsletter]

Leveraging the footprint of AtmosFi, built a hyper-local newsletter program that collected over 30k+ subscribers highlighting daily and weekly events, specials and promotions. Charged businesses for special placement. This one ended due to COVID.

2013 / AtmosFi

[local business CRM]

Built and launched a WiFi CRM company that helped 30+ local Philly businesses automate digital marketing to thousands of their local customers. Recruited a CTO, CFO, built an advisory board, bootstrapped and raised capital at angel stage. But ultimately was unable to figure out a scalable business model.

2010 / AiS IT Services

[web services company]

Student led web services company, focused on WordPress website development for non-profits, small business and other student organizations. Generated over $5k in revenue for Association for Information Systems student organization.

2010 / theRank.me [attendance application]

Created a better way to track attendance for student organizations at Temple University. Attempted to measure student’s experiences outside the classroom. My first project that required coding. Recruited a team of (3) student developers and built an MVP location that was deployed to a half a dozen organizations.

2010 / Temple Trash Man

[trash services company]

Added this one to reflect my ‘why not’ attitude when trying new projects. No technology in this one, just offer my entire apartment complex to run their trash to the trash room (located on the far side of the building). Also thought it could be an easy buck for a college student. Only got one lead, therefore ‘started’ it.
